Principal Dentist

Sarah is the principal dentist and practice owner of Birdgate Dental. She qualified from the University of Wales in 1996 and has been at Birdgate Dental since then. She continued her professional education in Manchester and was awarded the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2009. Dr Glover undertook research at Leeds University to gain an MSc, with Merit, in Clinical Dentistry in 2012. She is currently completing the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons (England). Dr Glover has also been an examiner in Restorative Dentistry for the FGDP Royal College of Surgeons in London and also previously been an Honorary Tutor for Leeds Dental Institute, teaching undergraduate students.
Dr Glover has worked in the department of Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgery at Scarborough hospital, where she gained valuable experience in surgical techniques. She is also a member of the Association of Dental Implantology, the British Society of Restorative Dentistry, and the British Society of Periodontology. Dr Glover believes in providing dentistry to the highest standards, using the latest materials and equipment. She also takes referrals from other dentists in the North East.
In her spare time, Dr Glover can be found on her mountain bike in the local forests or on the moors near Pickering. She is a keen charity fundraiser of Antibiotic Research UK and advises them on the dental aspect of antibiotic use and education. Dr Glover completed her Mountain Rescue training in 2018 and is now a full team member of the Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team, a vital role in the community!
