I am a Principal Dentist and Director of Birdgate Dental Practice. I graduated from Universidad Europa Valencia in 2018. Since graduating, I have worked in both NHS and private practice. I strive to provide the best care to all my patients to help them achieve beautiful and healthy smiles.

As a certified Invisalign provider, I offer patients a discreet and comfortable alternative to traditional braces. With a keen focus on achieving optimal results, I use the latest techniques and technology to create tailored treatment plans that align with each patient’s unique needs and goals.

I am dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care in every aspect of dentistry, whether it’s routine check-ups, advanced restorative procedures, or orthodontic services. I am committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in dental technology and treatments to offer the most effective solutions for my patients. I hope to specialise further in the future.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling and exploring new countries with my husband, socialising with friends, reading a good book, and going to the gym.

I am a Principal Dentist and Director of Birdgate Dental Practice. I graduated from Newcastle University in 2009 and have since worked in general dental practice providing both NHS and private treatments. I carried out my vocational training in Cumbria. Following this, I returned to the North East and developed an interest in complex endodontic treatment (root canal therapy).

Outside of work, I am kept busy with my young son and our dog, Ralph. When I do get the chance to relax, I enjoy watching films, documentaries, and motorsport — particularly Formula 1, which I occasionally fall asleep in front of.

I am a Principal Dentist and Director of Birdgate Dental Practice. With over 16 years of experience in general, cosmetic and endodontic dentistry, I am committed to delivering the highest standard of care while continuously advancing my clinical skills and knowledge.

After graduating from Newcastle University in 2009, I began my career as a House Officer at Newcastle Dental Hospital before moving into general dental practice. I completed the MFDS examinations in 2010 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2011.

I later pursued advanced training in restorative dentistry through the Royal College of Surgeons in London and completed a two-year programme focused on dental implant placement and restoration. I also earned a Diploma in Endodontics from the University of Chester. In 2025, I was awarded Associate Fellowship of the College of General Dentistry (Assoc FCGDent), recognising my contribution to the profession and commitment to excellence in patient care.

I am passionate about providing high-quality, ethical dentistry and take pride in building long-term relationships with my patients through care that is both clinically sound and personally tailored.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, video gaming, watching movies and going to the gym.

Dr Sarah Herbert

I have been part of the team at Birdgate Dental for nearly 30 years. During this time, I have also worked in the Maxillofacial Department at Scarborough Hospital and at Leeds Dental Institute, where I taught undergraduate dental students in clinical settings.

I have previously been an examiner for the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and have worked as a Key Opinion Leader for a dental materials company across Europe.

I have undertaken extensive postgraduate dental training and gained a Master of Clinical Dentistry (Restorative), with Merit, from Leeds University in 2012. I have been restoring dental implants for over 20 years and, following completion of a Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, have been placing implants for over 10 years.

I have a special interest in dental implants and advanced restorative dentistry.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and am an operational member of the local mountain rescue team. I am currently training a search dog, which often involves spending weekends in my favourite place – the mountains.

Caroline Jackson

I qualified from the University of Manchester in 2008 and returned to the North East to work as a general dentist in both NHS and private dental practices.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, but my favourite part of the job is getting to know my patients and helping them feel relaxed and at ease during their visits.

I currently live in Guisborough and hope to move to Pickering in the near future. At weekends, I can often be found on the sidelines at junior football matches, cheering on Pikes Academy and Brooklyn. I am also honoured to be the Chair of Governors at my former secondary school, Laurence Jackson School in Guisborough.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my young family, travelling, dining out and playing with my dog, Gelert, a very energetic English Springer Spaniel.
